Neurodivergence in Software Teams

This interactive workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of neurodiversity and its relevance in today’s workplace, with a focus on how to foster truly inclusive environments where neurodivergent employees can thrive. Drawing on key insights from The Neurodiversity Edge by Maureen Dunne, The Canary Code by Ludmila Praslova, and Neurodiversity Coaching by Nancy Doyle, the session explores how neuro-inclusivity can unlock innovation, enhance team performance, and support psychological safety. Participants are guided through real-world scenarios, inclusive design principles, and actionable strategies aligned with Universal Design to create accessible work environments for diverse cognitive styles.

Grounded in a strengths-based approach, the workshop also features reflections from Pfizer’s own neurodivergent colleagues, including insights from the My Neurodivergent Brain YouTube series and our internal podcast on neurodiversity. Attendees gain practical tools to identify and remove common workplace barriers while learning how to advocate for inclusive systems and practices—whether in meetings, hiring, or digital communications. Through guided discussion, collaborative exercises, and resource sharing, the session empowers Pfizer colleagues to become champions for neurodiversity and contribute to a culture where every brain is valued.
